Rod Gervais
Began playing drums at the age of 10- Guitar
and piano (for composition purposes) at 16. Studied theory and
composition under Barbara Jensen (a Hart graduate) for 2 years.
Began his professional career in music in 1970......... and has
perfomed with musicians such as James Cotton, The Platters and the
Drifters.
"I have played for Jazz, Rock, Contry,
Blues, Big Band, Folk Music, and was a percussionist with a Symphony
Orchestra and have composed songs in blues, country and jazz
(although, if you ask me , my love lies with "The Blues")
Early influeces include B.B. King, Ray
Charles and Dizzy Gillespie.
I have developed a career as a constuction
Project Maneger and pressently work with a company located in
Waterford CT Successfully completing projects including a world class
recording studio (New England Power Station) located in waterford and
a 15,000 s.f. movie studio which is designed to accommodate up to 70
tons or rigging - 40' in the air - all within a 60' X 40' stage area
- for practice "tune ups" of bands prior to world tours. (The design
is based on the requirments for Janet Jackson's stage show -- which
is presently the largest show in the world). My love for music is
equaled by my love of constuction............ Finding the challenges
that both fields present mutually rewarding.
